Pair it with the right upgrades, and it can become an incredibly powerful spell to have in your deck, though it doesn't scale quite too well for Loop runs without the right Artifacts and upgrades. Convergence has the Sera Cannon, a Legendary spell that costs 2 Mana and does damage based on your current Money count.Anima has eight Epic-or-higher spells that cost 3 Mana or more, such as Firestorm and Blizzard.Looking purely at the numbers, Anima, Glimmer, and eventually Slashfik are good brands for high-power, high-cost spells. This offers Shopkeeper a somewhat unique playstyle - she can go for normally impractical high-cost spells like Double Tap, Guillotine, Blessing of Susano'o, Castle, etc. Because you start with 4 Max Mana and can get more Mana Gems for free, it's easy to end up with 8-10 Max Mana.
However, this strategy requires you to have space for at least one Artifact.
ONE STEP FROM EDEN OST UPGRADE
Because Removals will not go up in price, you can take advantage of this in Loop runs to obtain Upgraders for what is essentially a mere 65 Money by using your Removals on Upgrade One right after obtaining it, as you do not lose the Upgraders from removing said Artifact. Consider taking Pacts and immediately using Removals on them. You have a larger supply of Removals, and they won't go up in price. Pacts that raise your Max HP will do nothing. Soul Food, Rescue Badge, and L (Flex) will only provide heals. Lifesword's negative effects are massively reduced. Artifacts like Daffodil or Lily are much more worthwhile, since all they do is damage you. This was readjusted in a later update, where while you now still keep your maximum HP due to Beret, you cannot heal yourself anymore due to the effects of the artifact. Transcendence used to effectively lower you to 1 HP as a one-time cost, and would let you start every battle with 1000 Shield for the rest of the game. Because of Beret, effects that will raise or lower your Max HP will only heal or damage you (or deal no damage, if you only have 1 HP).
You will need fight all 8 character Bosses in the first 8 Worlds, regardless of the route. This allows you to buy any artifacts and spells for free, but restocking costs significantly more money (160 base). The Shopkeeper can open the Shop at any area.
